Logo design and custom typeface for the Finnish jewelry brand Kalevala. The new logo was to connect Kalevala's strong legacy to a modern and contemporary visual identity.

The new logotype draws inspiration from the original Kalevala Koru logo from 1930's but the shapes and proportions have been boldly modernised and simplified. The result is a modern, bold and confident logotype with roots solidly in Kalevala's history.

The custom typeface takes these elements a step further by making the letter shapes present all over the identity as a headline font. This makes the identity immediately recognizable, even when the logo isn't present.

The project was awarded a Certificate of Typographic Excellence by TDC in 2021.
